ANIMATIONS!
bravely default animation!
Taking one of my favourite RPG games with beautiful music, I made a background looping animation involving a 2D, 3-frame animation of the protagonist playing the signature instrument of his theme song in a 3D Retro background, using Cinema4d, Photoshop and After Effects to achieve this.
pokemon parody cartoon!
A 3 minute cartoon I made of one of my favourite YouTubers performing a parody skit of Pokémon. I drew the character frames in Photoshop, designed the backgrounds in Cinema4d, animated and merged the 2d & 3d together in After Effects and edited the sounds and footage on Premiere Pro.
Dot to dot project!
I took part in the Dot to Dot project, designing an animation that starts and ends with a white circle and the work consists of round shapes. The circle would transition to other people's work, making it one large continuous clip. This was my contribution, a music video approach using MIKA's 'Lollipop'.
children of the red king!
A book project revolved choosing a book I have read in the past (preferably one that doesn't have a TV/movie adaptation) and reimagine it as a title sequence. I took the Charlie Bone series and experimented with two different genres, the first being a fantasy adventure and the second being a Gothic horror, using Adobe After Effects and Photoshop to achieve a collage style sequence.
magician stops a bank heist - animated comic!
The first year final piece put my fresh adobe skills to the test! Constructing an animatic and using Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere pro I created a 2 minute animation about a silent magician stopping a bank robbery. Going with the action comic book aesthetic, onomatopoeia and sound was used to accentuate the illustration and pacing of the animation!
Funky farm!
For my second year final project, I decided to make a video game animation. Using music from the Space Channel 5 game and using Cinema 4d, I built an isometric farm, filled with dancing cel-shaded animals in which you must copy off what they are doing in time with the music, using Illustrator to design the UI and After Effects to animate the UI above the 3d animation.
'321go!' rhythm game!
The final major project for my third year combined the ideas from my previous two years; a rhythm video game about two comic book, musical superheroes taking on a jazz-themed super-villain! I took inspiration from the batman franchise, designing parodies of the dynamic duo and basing their costumes off popular musicians like Freddie Mercury and band members from Kiss!
